Hurricane Updates for Westminster Suncoast

Westminster Suncoast and Westminster Communities of Florida are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Idalia, and our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and team members. We are actively planning and preparing for the storm and are taking all necessary precautions. We will provide updates as they become available and throughout the storm.

  • We are pleased to have weathered Hurricane Idalia, and everyone is safe and doing well. Our first priority is always the safety and well-being of our residents and team members. While there may be a lot of debris to clean up, we are pleased that life will return to normal soon, and we were pleased to host residents from our sister communities to support them.

This will be our final update on the effects of Hurricane Idalia. For further information, we encourage you to contact the Executive Director or Administrator.

  • We have sheltered in place and have weathered Hurricane Idalia at our community. Everyone is safe and doing well. We were happy to welcome residents from Westminster Shores, Westminster Manor and Westminster Point Pleasant as they sheltered at our community.

Our first priority is always the safety and well-being of our employees and team members. We will continue to update if there is any additional information.

  • Westminster Suncoast has been closely monitoring the developments of Hurricane Idalia over the past few days. We are sharing an update regarding our hurricane-preparedness plans and the latest information we have received from the emergency management team in Pinellas County.

The authorities in Pinellas County have determined that it is not mandatory for our community to evacuate. Westminster Suncoast is now actively planning and preparing to shelter in place during the storm.

While we can never predict the exact course of a hurricane, the information we have received indicates that the risk in our immediate vicinity has diminished, and our safety is not as compromised as initially thought.

Please be assured that our decision has been made in consultation with the experts and emergency management officials who are well-versed in these matters. The safety of our residents remains our top priority, and we are taking every precaution to ensure their well-being during this challenging time.

We will continue to follow the recommendations of the National Hurricane Center and local emergency management authorities, and will update with any new developments.
